Known scents, turned.

Twynela is a small group of people in Whitehouse and Austin, Texas, who kept having the same conversation. We loved certain fragrances and we each had one thing we would change. The rose that goes to jam. The clean musk that goes plush. The amber that goes to candy. So we started making the versions we wished existed: the same bones as a scent you know, with one deliberate change. We call that change The Turn, and we put it on the front of every box so you always know what you are getting.

What we are

An independent fragrance company. We compose, name and sell our own fragrances. When one of ours starts from a famous direction, we say so on the product page in plain words, because you deserve to know, and we say what we changed, because that is the whole point. We are not affiliated with any other fragrance house, and nothing we make is a copy. If you want the original, buy the original. If you want the turn, you are in the right place.

Why 30 ml and $40

Because a bottle you finish is better than a bottle you keep. Thirty millilitres is three or four months of daily wear, the right size to try, to travel with, and to change your mind. The price is what it costs to make it well in small batches, with good glass and a real box, without a department store in the middle.

How we choose the next one

You tell us. The Next Turn is our community program: people send a scent memory, vote on the notes, test the trial blends and vote on the name. Three fragrances is a strength, and the fourth will be the one you asked for.

The name

A twin that is not identical. Say it twy-NEL-a.
