Safety and ingredients

Everything that goes on your skin should be easy to look up. This page has the full ingredient list for each fragrance, the allergens in it, how to use it safely, and how to tell us if something goes wrong.

How to use

Spray on skin or clothing from about 10 cm away. Two or three sprays is plenty; our fragrances are concentrated and the point is to be noticed by the people close to you, not the room. For external use only. Keep away from eyes. Do not use on broken, irritated or freshly shaved skin. Patch test on the inside of your elbow first if you have sensitive skin or known fragrance allergies, and wait 24 hours. If redness, itching or a rash develops, stop using it and see a doctor. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Fragrance can mark some fabrics, leather and finished surfaces; test on a hidden spot.

Storage and flammability

Our fragrances are alcohol-based and flammable. Keep the bottle away from heat, flame, cigarettes and direct sunlight, and never leave it in a hot car. Store upright with the cap on in a cool, dark place; a drawer is ideal. Stored that way, a bottle keeps well for at least two years after opening. Heat and light are what change a fragrance, not time.

Ingredients

Ingredients are listed in descending order of concentration, as US labelling rules require. "Fragrance (Parfum)" means the scent compound; the allergens within it that must be named separately are listed after it. We will list every fragrance allergen on the FDA's disclosure list as soon as that rule is final, and we already list the 26 recognised allergens used in Europe.

What is not in them

Our fragrance compounds are formulated to the International Fragrance Association (IFRA) standards for products applied to skin. We will not make "free from" claims beyond what we can document.

If you have a reaction

Stop using the product. If the reaction is serious, seek medical care first. Then tell us: email hello@twynela.com or write to Twynela LLC, 5900 Balcones Drive, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78731, with the product name, the batch number printed on the bottom of the box, what happened and when. We are the responsible person for these products under US cosmetic law, we keep a record of every report, and we report serious adverse events to the US Food and Drug Administration within the time the law requires. You can also report directly to the FDA through its MedWatch program.

Where they are made

Made in small batches in Texas. Each box carries a batch number so we can trace every bottle.
